Our company’s mission is the ‘eradication of preventable blindness’, and that’s exactly what we are working towards with eyecare professionals around the world.
Prevention follows detection, and that’s where the epiCam comes in – the introduction of such a powerful, handheld, ‘all in one’ retinal imaging device into the market has revolutionized the delivery of portable eye screening/healthcare, by enabling rapid, non-invasive imaging and assessment of the retina in a wide range of applications and locations – the impact particularly noticeable among patients who may be unable to make it into the practice for imaging otherwise, including emergency care situations, patients with mobility issues, sports medicine, residents of care homes, and those served by mobile eyecare services directly in their communities.
Founded in 2011 by Dr Craig Robertson, an expert in imaging systems & algorithm development, following his own grandmother’s struggles with vision loss, epipole was formed with the aspirational target of the eradication of preventable blindness.
Craig’s vision was to help transform the treatment of chronic eye disease, by delivering outstanding imaging technology that exceeds the expectation of our customers, and enhances the lives of their patients.
